About Richmond FC

From the Richmond FC website:

Our mission: To lead the advancement of soccer development while nurturing a love and appreciation for the sport, and to inspire a lifelong love of soccer

A non-profit youth sports organization established 65 years ago to give Richmond kids a safe, fun, high level organization through which to play soccer, Richmond FC  started as Richmond Youth Soccer Association (RYSA), which oversaw four regional boys’ soccer associations within the city: Central Richmond, West Richmond, South Richmond, and North Richmond.

In 2004 the four smaller associations merged under Richmond Soccer, re-branding the club as Richmond FC in 2014, and adding programming for girls in 2020. Today, RFC has never been larger and more diverse, offering more programing options than ever before, for all children aged 3 to 18.

Under Executive Director, former European professional player, and former Vancouver Whitecaps and national team goalkeeper coach Marius Roevde, RFC offers a full range of programming for kids who just want to have fun, and for kids who want to follow a path to potentially playing professionally – and everywhere in between.

Our take: RFC has been around a long time and has been calling publicly for a merger of Richmond clubs. 3x larger than RUSC. Lots of depth at all player levels. Slowly expanding girls teams.
