A group of players from Richmond FC’s junior ranks will be playing in the HPL next season as eight players emerged from RFC’s advanced junior teams to earn a jump to Fusion FC.
The names of the players are kept confidential because they’re kids, but such a large slice of players to move up all at once speaks to the system at RFC doing exactly what it set out to do.
RFC does not specifically partner with Fusion in the way Richmond United does, allowing excelling players to choose where they’d like to go if they advance to the HPL, be that Fusion or another licensed club. That the players moved en masse comes as a surprise, as they normally move a few at a time, but the results of this squad merited the jump and the Richmond organization has publicly wished them well as they follow the pathway.
